The CMT Music Awards 2012 held in Nashville on Wednesday and hosted by Toby Keith and Kristen Bell, and broadcasted live from Nashville.

The performers came to the event, the annual music showcase finds big stars such as Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Ashley Greene and Denise Richards among those set to make appearance at the prior of the Bridgestone Arena.

Hosts Kristen Bell and Toby Keith, this year’s CMT Awards find Miss Underwood sitting as the top with five bids, while other acts up for trophies including Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, Thompson Square, Taylor Swift and Blake Shelton.

With wins in two categories, it was Carrie Underwood’s night at the fan-voted 2012 CMT Music Awards. Other winners included Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Scotty McCreery and Thompson Square.

Underwood’s first win came with Paisley for collaborative video for “Remind Me,” a track from his latest album, This Is Country Music. She offered a short acceptance speech but also observed the interaction Paisley and her husband, Nashville Predators hockey player Mike Fisher, shared when the win was announced. “Did you see my husband hug him first?” Underwood joked.

Making for quite the entertaining lineup, the show boasts performances from the likes of Chesney and Underwood, as well as Willie Nelson and Rascal Flatts with Journey – while President Barack Obama and Republican hopeful Mitt Romney will also be turning up to plug their campaigns.
